The recent development in Jaipur's connectivity infrastructure are poised to significantly boost tourist footfall in the city, which is expected to lead to an increase in better F&B places and new F&B experiences. These enhancements span across various modes of transportation, including railways, airports, and road infrastructure, collectively making Jaipur more accessible and attractive to travellers from all over India.

The railway infrastructure in Jaipur and the surrounding areas is undergoing substantial upgrades. The redevelopment of 21 railway stations across Rajasthan, including major enhancements at Sanganer, Dausa, and Ajmer stations, is set to improve regional connectivity. These stations will feature new buildings, waiting rooms, plazas, and better amenities to support increased passenger traffic. The completion of these projects by 2025-26 will not only make travel more convenient but also transform these stations into economic hubs with commercial kiosks and shops.

Jaipur International Airport has seen a notable increase in passenger traffic, with a 26.6 percent rise from April to July 2023 compared to the previous year. The introduction of new direct flight routes to seven cities, including Agra, Khajuraho, Varanasi, Jaisalmer, Bagdogra, Bhopal, and Patna, during the winter schedule is expected to further boost tourism. This improved connectivity will attract more visitors, driving demand for enhanced F&B options and new culinary experiences in the city.

In addition to air and rail enhancements, the road infrastructure in and around Jaipur is also being upgraded. The construction of the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway is a significant project designed to facilitate faster travel between these two cities. The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) is constructing five new 200-feet roads to ease traffic congestion on major arterial roads, further improving accessibility. Moreover, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has opened three new highways aimed at easing travel between Jaipur and Ajmer, with additional flyovers under construction on the Jaipur-Kishangarh stretch of the Ajmer Expressway (NH-8).

Restaurants banking on infra development

Bansooriwala's, family restaurant and sweets chain, announced the opening of its fourth outlet on the midway Delhi-Jaipur Expressway. Banking on the huge traffic footfall on this highway, Vikrantt Singh, Founder and Managing Director of Bansooriwala's mentioned, “we look forward to becoming a beloved dining destination in this region.”

These comprehensive infrastructure projects are set to make Jaipur a more attractive destination for tourists. As a result, the city is likely to see a surge in the establishment of high-quality F&B places, offering diverse and innovative dining experiences. This growth in the F&B sector will not only cater to the increasing number of visitors but also enhance the overall appeal of Jaipur as a vibrant and dynamic tourist destination. Millennials and Gen Z-ers, enriched by the exposure to international cultures through travel, OTT platforms and social media, have played a pivotal role in steering this culinary evolution.

Tapri Central, known for its vintage charm and variety of teas, is a popular café located opposite Central Park. It offers comfort food like tadka Maggi and vada pav, making it a favourite spot for both tea enthusiasts and those seeking a cosy dining experience.

Baradari at City Palace blends contemporary and traditional Rajasthani cuisine in a sophisticated setting. Notable dishes include smoked lal maas and pyaaz ki kachori with mozzarella and caramelised onions, attracting food lovers looking for a blend of modern and traditional flavours. Topaz Restaurant - FineDine & Skydeck, located on MI Road, provides a luxurious dining experience with a multi-cuisine menu and stunning views from its skydeck, making it a popular choice for special occasions. These new investments reflect Jaipur’s growing appeal as a culinary destination.
